a lot has happened it feels like it has been a month. my mom was here with me in new orleans for 4 days. we had a great time, she didn't want to leave!
i found a car it only took about a day of looking down here. it was a big step for me, having not owned a car in 4 years, and hardly driving for the past 4 years as well, i wanted to find one that i liked and had good gas mileage. the last car i bought was a used oldsmobile, on the drive home it stopped working twice and on the third it never started again and was only 1/4 mile from my parents house. it ended up getting towed to the auto shop and was there for a few weeks before it was in drivable again. needless to say i did not want to have this experience again, thus a reason why i went new. i now happily own a nissan versa. i forgot how much fun it is to drive around with the windows open and good music playing.
work at junior achievement has begun, i am the development manager. i attended a luncheon for board and potenial board members last week and a breakfast for laureates to be honored at our spring gala. i was able to meet many of the people i will be working with. work is busy with two big events coming up and with some out on maternity leave it is much busier than i had expected in the first week. but i have a great office with a big window, it is also 70-80 degrees everyday here.
