oak alley plantation

2 weekends ago jake and i stopped at oak alley plantation, on our way back from baton rouge. oak alley plantation is one of the very well known plantations in louisiana. with the huge live oak trees lining the path to the building it is a beautiful place to visit. we took a tour of the mansion and learned the history and different owners. It was beautiful to visit, and reminds you of what life was like many years ago, when the wealthy had slaves to keep the fans blowing over a block of ice to create cool air or 'air conditioning'. or how everything that happens in life takes place in one house, life, death and all in between.
the plantation is located along the west side of the mississippi it was about a 20 miniute drive off the interstate that took us past many other plantations.
